TULSA, Okla. (Oct. 13, 2026) — With a music catalog that continues to resonate with generations of fans, classic rock band Kansas is making its return to the Hard Rock Live stage inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2027, at 8 p.m.
Kansas has built a career that has spanned five decades and become one of America’s most iconic classic rock bands. The Topeka, Kansas, “garage band” released its debut album in 1974 after being discovered by Wally Gold, who worked for music executive Don Kirshner. The band has since sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.
The band’s signature songs include quadruple-platinum “Carry on Wayward Son,” which remains one of the most-played songs on classic rock radio, and triple-platinum “Dust in the Wind.”
Kansas has released 16 studio albums and five live albums, earning eight gold albums and three sextuple-platinum albums: “Leftoverture,” “Point of Know Return” and “Best of Kansas.” Its live album “Two for the Show” also went platinum. In 2020, Kansas released “The Absence of Presence,” its 16th studio album, which debuted at No. 10 on Billboard’s Top Current Albums chart. The album followed 2016’s “The Prelude Implicit,” which debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard 200.
Kansas has also celebrated “Leftoverture” and “Point of Know Return” with extensive anniversary tours, each accompanied by a live album. “Leftoverture Live & Beyond” was released in 2017, followed by “Point of Know Return Live & Beyond” in 2021.
The band has spent decades performing to sold-out arenas and stadiums across North America, Europe and Japan. Kansas appeared on the Billboard charts for more than 200 weeks throughout the 1970s and 1980s, cementing its place among the era’s most influential classic rock acts.
The band’s current lineup features vocalist and keyboardist Ronnie Platt, keyboardist and vocalist Tom Brislin, guitarists Zak Rizvi and Scott Bernard, violinist and guitarist Joe Deninzon, bassist and vocalist Dan McGowan, drummer Eric Holmquist, original guitarist Richard Williams and original drummer Phil Ehart.
Beyond the concert stage, Kansas remains a fixture of classic rock radio and popular culture. The band’s music has reached new generations through commercials; live sports broadcasts; video games, including “Rock Band,” “Guitar Hero” and “Grand Theft Auto”; the documentary “Kansas: Miracles Out of Nowhere”; and a guest appearance on The CW’s “Walker.” Its songs have also been featured in television shows such as “Supernatural,” “Reacher,” “All Elite Wrestling,” “South Park,” “The Office” and “The Simpsons,” as well as films, including “Old School,” “The Suicide Squad,” “Anchorman,” “Pitch Perfect,” “Happy Gilmore” and “Happy Gilmore 2.”
