TULSA, Okla. (Aug. 26, 2025) — With one of the most distinctive voices in country music, Country Music Hall of Famer John Anderson is hitting the road and heading to Hard Rock Live inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa for an acoustic performance on Friday, Oct. 24, at 8 p.m.
John Anderson has built a legendary career spanning more than four decades. Known for hits such as “Swingin’,” “Wild and Blue,” “Straight Tequila Night,” “Seminole Wind” and “Black Sheep,” Anderson has charted more than 60 singles across four consecutive decades and is a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
From his early days in Apopka, Florida, where he first began performing while working construction jobs (including helping build the Grand Ole Opry House), Anderson began his rise in country music with some modest chart-toppers in the 1970s, going on to score No. 1 hits in the 1980s with “Wild and Blue,” “Swingin’” and “Black Sheep.” He underwent a major comeback in the 1990s when “Straight Tequila Night” became his first No. 1 hit in nine years, followed by the No. 1 “Money in the Bank.” The momentum of this success propelled him into the 2000s with other hits such as “Seminole Wind” and “Bend Until It Breaks.”
Anderson has lived a life as enduring and inspiring as the music he creates. Married since 1983 with two daughters, the country star continues to tour and record, sharing his story of survival, faith and love of music with fans nationwide. His remarkable career nearly came to an end following a life-threatening health crisis that forced him off the road for the first time in 40 years. He lost his sense of pitch, struggled with hearing and even failed to recognize his own songs on the radio. At his lowest point, he leaned on his deep faith and family for strength, ultimately making a recovery that he now describes as nothing short of divine intervention.
That period of resilience and reflection inspired “Years,” his acclaimed collaboration with producer Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. Recorded in Nashville at Easy Eye Sound, the album revealed Anderson’s raw honesty and enduring artistry. With songs such as “Years,” “Celebrate” and the Blake Shelton duet “Tuesday I’ll Be Gone,” Anderson reaffirmed his place as a living legend and one of country music’s most authentic voices.
Tickets start at $39.50 and go on sale Aug. 29.
