David Lee Murphy

TULSA, Okla. (Sept. 10, 2026) — Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa will welcome ’90s country icon David Lee Murphy for a free show in Track 5. on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 10 p.m.

Murphy became a fixture on country radio in the 1990s with the chart-topping anthem “Dust on the Bottle” and fan favorite “Party Crowd.” His catalog also includes “Loco,” “Every Time I Get Around You,” “The Road You Leave Behind” and “Breakfast in Birmingham.”

Raised in Southern Illinois, Murphy developed a sound shaped by outlaw country artists such as Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson along with Southern rock bands, including Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers Band and ZZ Top. He later moved to Nashville, where he sharpened his songwriting skills and built a following in honky-tonks and clubs across the South.

Murphy’s platinum-selling debut album, “Out With a Bang,” introduced his rowdy, roots-driven style to a national audience. In addition to “Dust on the Bottle” and “Party Crowd,” the album features “Fish Ain’t Bitin’” and “Just Once,” which appeared in the Lane Frost biographical film “8 Seconds.”

Beyond his success as a performer, Murphy has become one of Nashville’s most accomplished songwriters. He has helped create hits for Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Brooks & Dunn, Reba McEntire and numerous other country stars.

His songwriting credits include Chesney’s “Here and Now” and “Living in Fast Forward,” Aldean’s “Big Green Tractor,” Jake Owen’s “Anywhere With You,” Justin Moore’s “Why We Drink” and Thompson Square’s Grammy-nominated “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not.”

Murphy returned to recording with “No Zip Code,” an album produced by Chesney and Buddy Cannon. Its lead single, “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright,” became a No. 1 hit and earned Murphy and Chesney the CMA Award for Musical Event of the Year.

In recognition of his contributions to the genre, Murphy was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2023. Today, he continues to perform his signature hits while writing songs for many of country music’s leading artists.

The show is free to those 21 and older.
